Little Whistle In Ladies' A Contest
The B—28 —2 victory scored by' Hora Hora against Whatitiri in the ladies’ A grade competition was not a fair indication cf the run of the game. Undoubtedly it was one of the best seen in the section this season. High School No. 1 ground was the scene of the battle, and it presented a fine playing field. The Hora Hora side is practically a representative team, whilst Whatitiri is one of the B teams which volunteered to come into A grade hockey for the convenience of the association.
Th(| country team gave a splendid display. Phyllis Peterson was an outstanding player for Whaliliri. She was responsible for some great solo runs, yet in no uncertain way helped the combination of the front line. Whatitiri may have fared better had the goal-keeper been more experienced, This player, however, will undoubtedly improve with practice. The match was a good one. with few breaches. There were spells of five minutes on end without the whistle blowing. For Hera Horn. D. Saul E. Richards <2). J. Skullan and A. Dent were goal-getters, and C. Davidson and E. Peterson each netted for Whatitiri.
The game was controlled by Messrs Oldcorn and Nixey.
