Hamilton Parachutist Injured

Tho Hamilton parachutist. Mr L. E. A. Hayward, crashed heavily into a barbed-wire fence at the southern end of tho Mangoro aerodrome yesterday afternoon. He damaged his two parachutes, and suffered deep scratches on one hand. Mr Hayward made one descent successfully. and on his second jump his parachute did not open fully in thetirst few hundred feel, so lie pulled the wil'd <>r die emergency parachute. Ii opened slowly, but the other parachute remained partially opener on two sides, opening out completely when.

Mr Hayward was about 150 feet from the ground. He struck tho ground a few feet from tho fence in front of the members' enclosure, and the pull of the two parachutes caused him to bounce into the two top strands of wire, the wooden supports of which, were broken under the impact.
