[Per Press Association. Copyright.] CHRISTCHURCH. This Day. Although nominated, with Mr A. N. Grigg. for the National Party ballot, for the selection of a candidate for the Mid-Canterbury seat, Mr P. B. Hall, ol ! Hawarden. said on Fiiday evening" that he would not be a candidate against Mr Grigg. Nominations closed at 5 p.m. yesterday. Mr D. Jones, of Wellington, and Mr M. E. Lyons, of Christchurch, who were previously nominated, both withdrew from the contesi during the week-end. and the general expectation was that Mr Grigg would be unopposed. The announcement that Mr Hall had been nominated came as a surprise.
