Stanaway, aged 20 years, suffered concussion, necessitating his removal to the Northern Wairoa Hospital at Te Kopuru, when he was thrown from his horse, which had been attacked by a cow. Mr Stanaway was riding along the Awakino Point road when the cow sud • denly rushed at his horse and knocked it over.
