Slight Flooding Of Roads
At 9 a.m. this morning the water on the main Auckland highway at Otaika was up to the running-boards of cars. With care, however, the stretch could be negotiated without difficulty. By 1 p.m. the water had completely subsided. Ruakaka Road was also flooded this morning. It was then low tide, and with the full tide at 3 p.m. to-day it was expected that the position might be more serious. This would affect only a side road, and would have no bearing on the main highway south.
