Chinese Threaten Japanese Rear

LONDON, May 26.

The Chinese Embassy announces the Chinese recapture of Hotseh, which threatens the rear of the Japanese pressing towards the Lunghai railway. Swarms of Chinese are engaging Japanese at Linfang and turning the situation in China’s favour.

Japanese marines are reported to he attacking the outskirts of Swatow, in South China, a treaty port between Amoy and "Hongkong. They are meeting with stout resistance.
