German Bombers Cross Czech Frontier
(Received 1 p.m.) LONDON, May 26.
A Prague message says that two German bombers flew over Asch, Herr Henlein’s .birthplace, and some miles inside Czech territory. Chasers persued the machine back to Germany. Latest despatches from official quarters indicate that the Czechoslovakian situation is unchanged. The Czechs ordered all aeroplanes five kilometres behind the frontier, while the frontier patrols, are without rifles, which is easing the tension. German resentment against Britain,., however, continues. A deadlock remains between Dr. Hodza, Czech Prime Minister,, and Herr Henlein The former wants to negotiate immediately but the latter says he is not ready. Importance attaches to Mr. Cham-; berlain having sent Mr. Strang, head of the Central European Department of the Foreign Office, to Prague, Ber-. lin and Paris, to consult the British Embassies and bring back a picture of . the situation.
