Britain’s Central Europe Policy; May Not be Indifferent
(Received 10 a.m.)
LONDON, May 25. 1 M. JAN MASARYK, Czecho Minister in London, flew to Prague this morni ' ing to advise his Government of Britain’s policy in Central Europe. ’ The Foreign Secretary outlined the latest confidential despatches re- { ceived from the British Minister at Prague, and also explained the situation as viewed by Cabinet, which met in the morning. I"r S - I It is gathered that Lord Halifax made it clear that Britain’s policy ■. remains identical- with Mr. Chamberlain’s pronouncement in the House of ! Commons on Tuesday, when he declared that Britain might not be able to | remain indifferent to an upheaval in. Central Europe.
Planes to Respect Frontier The Czech Ministry of - Defence has
ordered aircraft to keep three miles from the frontier, and is introducing a system of signals to ward • the aeroplanes off prohibited areas, says 0 the Prague correspondent of “The Times.”
The Government does not admit the correctness of the German allegations that there were five violations of the frontier in 24 .hours, which apparently were offset by similar German trespasses. ,
