Viscount Nuffield has given £IO,OOO to the London Hospital for the X-ray diagnosis department. * * * * In spite of appeals from the South Shields Municipality, the Admiralty and Air Ministry have announced that a search for the crew of the steamer Anglo-Australian, missing on a voyage from England to Vancouver, would be impossible, owing to the vast area to be covered and the limited range of aircraft. * t- * * The loan which is being floated by the Eire Government to assist to meet the payment of £10,000,000 to Britain, in terms of the recent agreement, was opened on Monday. The list will close on Saturday. The Government took up £4,000,000.
