County Committees Appointed

The annual meeting of the Whangarei County Council was held today, there being' present: The chairman (Mr J. A. S. Mac Kay), and. Messrs F. Elliott, J. Morrison, A. Stephen, W. C. B. Powell, A. J. McKay, A. Clarke, T. N. Blake, R. Feaver, and L. W. Smith.

Mr J. A. S. Mac Kay was re-elected unopposed as ch'afrman, the maximum honorarium of £IOO per annum being renewed. The following committees were appointed:— Finance Committee. —The council, with Cr. Clarke as chairman.

Legal Committee. The county chairman and Crs. Clarke and Blake, Annual Supplies and Purchasing Committee. —The chairm'an and Crs Blake and Elliott. Machinery Committee.—The chairman and Crs. Stephen and Clarke. Building Committee. —The chairman and Crs. Clarke and Blake. The county chairman was reappointed representative on the District Highways Council.
