(Received 10 a.m.)
LONDON, May 12.
The newspapers published pictures showing thousands of German cars lined up at a Southampton dock, where hundreds are being landed every week. Motor traders are dissatisfied with the reply of the President of the Board of Trade, Mr Oliver Stanley, in the House of Commons, deprecating the possibility of dumping. /
The “Manchester Guardian’s” city editor points out that German cars are sold more cheaply in Britain than in Germany, Which exported over half the entire output. The retail price in Britain is £135, £lO under the lowest price for a British 10 h.p. car.
