SYDNEY, February 15. In a boxing bout ,at the Sydney Sports Ground last evening, Ambrose Palmer (Victoria), 12st. 51bs., defeated Frank Rowsey (U.S.), 12st. 61bs, In the main contest, between Ron Richard, list, lllbs., middleweight champion of Australia, and Atalio Sabatino (U.S.), list, lllbs., the former received the decision on points, after ten exciting and spectacular rounds. Whangaroa Harbour. The wharfinger’s report for the month of January, presented at Monday’s meeting of the Whangaroa Harbour Board, showed a gross revenue for the Totara North Wharf of £56 17s 2d. Cargo handled totalled 566 tons, including 54,022 super feet of timber. At Whangaroa wharf imports amounted to 294 tons, and exports 276 tons, including 53,849 super, feet of timber. The revenue was £59 5s 4d. Only one quote was received for the construction of wharf sheds, and it was decided to carry out the work by day labour.
