Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report a small yarding at the Westfield sale today. Demand in both classes was keen, prices being fully 2/- per lOOlbs in advance in all classes. Quotations: Extra choice ox beef 40/- per lOOlbs; choice and prime, 36/- to 39/-; secondary and plain, 32/- to 35/-; prime young cow and heifer beef, 35/- to 38/-; secondary, 32/- to 33/-. Heavy prime steers ranged in price from £l4 to £l4 17/6; lighter, £l2 10/- to £l3 15/-; light, £ll 10/- to £l2 5/-; small and unfinished, £lO 5/- to £ll 5/-.
Extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £ll 10/- to £l3 12/6; heavy, £lO 2/6 to £ll 5/-; lighter, £8 to £9 15/-; light, £6 to £7 10/-; others, £4 5/- to £5 10/-.
