BAY CRICKET LEADERS DEFEATED
The first series in the second round of the Bay of Island cricket championship was played on Sunday. Showery conditions held up play for brief periods and called for free use of sawdust,
Okaihau, the leading team, suffered their first defeat at Punakiterc, conceding a six-pointer.
At Kaikohe, the home team also gained the maximum points over Kerikeri, by an inning’s victory. Two innings each were played out between Rangiahua and Ohaeawai, the former on their own ground securing a sixpointer by a margin of ten runs. Scores: —
