Returned Soldiers’ Visit To Australia
As the Maunganui nas been fully booked, the Union Steam Ship Company has advised the Dominion Headquarters of the Now Zealand Returned Soldiers' Association that the Monowai will bo placed at the disposal of the association for the transport of returned men who intend visiting Sydney for the special Anzac Day parados, which will be part of the 150th anniversary cc lebrations.
As a result, the allocation of berths available to the Whangarei Empire ExService Association has been raised to 18. Both ships are scheduled to sail from Wellington on April 19, returning cn May 2, but the Monowai will sail only if her full accommodation of Gs’s berths is booked.
The privilege of free rail transport to and from Wellington for each member of the contingent will also apply in the case of passengers by the Monowai.
For returned men , and their wives who are travelling to Sydney earlier and returning later than the ships carrying the contingents, the Union Company has agreed to make a 10 per cent, reduction in faros.
