The statement is balanced at £29.195.176. £21.856 less than at the close of the previous week. A fall of £137,951 in the value of the note issue marks the first reduction from the holiday peak of the previous week. Government deposits are £716,582 lower and the deposits of the trading banks £125,111 higher than the preceding Monday. Other liabilities are £108,016 higher. The sterling exchange reserve shows a fall of £577,839 from the level of the week before. Advances to the Dairy Industry Account are £17.758 lower and other assets loss by £29.731.
