MARKED DOWN AS VICTIM BY “BLUEBEARD”
• Received 3 p.m.) LONDON, January 3. “I consider myself lucky to be alive.” said Eugene Addor, a manservant from Kent, whose letters applying for a job were found in the villa of the French ‘■Bluebeard."» Eugene Wiedmann. The letters had occasioned .the belief that Addor had been another victim. “A short while ago.” said Addor, “I advertised for a post as personal, attendant to a bachelor. A man named Harto replied, describing himself as Swiss-Amcrican. writing from a box office number in Paris. Received No Reply., "I replied with full personal details about myself, and was answered from an address in Rue Scribe, Paris. I made up my mind to take the post offered, and pointed out that formalities with the Ministry of the Interior were necessary, and asked my prospective employer to lake the necessary stops.
“This was about three weeks ago. K was puzzled at getting no reply, ift now appears that it was a fortunate day for me when that correspondence ceased.” London Chauffeur Missing. Other letters of Wiedmaun's reveal that he corresponded with a Loudon chauffeur named Gray, who went to Paris for an appointment with Wiedmann, but missed him and returned to London. .However, he is now believed to have gone back to Paris and met Wiedmann. Scotland Yard is investigating Iris whereabouts. Wiedmann was arrested in Fontaine Bleu three weeks ago on suspicion of having murdered, either alone or with an associate. Roger Millions, who was ado taken into custody, no less than six people, including at ban;! two women.
