MR. SAVAGE: BACK INTO HARNESS AGAIN
I Special To “Northern Advocate } AUCKLAND, This Day.
Appreciation of his Christmas and New Year holidays in Auckland, and particularly the manner in which the people had contributed to his enjoyment, was expressed by the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage, today.
“I am returning this evening to Wellington and to another year of hard work,” Mr Savage said, “but 1 am well fortified by my fortnight’s spell in Auckland. “The holidays have been memor-
able in many respects, but mostly to me for the considerate way in which the people and the newspapers combined in goodwill to give me a good share of leisure.
“I desire to offer my heartfelt thanks to all who contributed toward making my furlough something to be remembered,” Mr Savage added, “and would like particularly to express my gratitude to the people of my own electorate who welcomed me as a friend.”
