There was an attendance of 18.500 at Ellerslie yesterday for the fourth day of the Auckland Racing Club’s summer meeting. The course was in good cider for the first race, and became faster as the day progressed. The investments totalled £64,962, compared with £60.943 on the fourth day last year, an increase of £4019. "I he turnover for the meeting was £290,861/10/. against £266.134 last year, an increase of £31.927/10/.-
Concluding results:— Royal Stakes, of 500 sovs.; six furlongs.—(l) Te Hero. 7.13. 1; (3) Peerless. 7.10. 2; (2) Francis Drake. 9.0, 3. Two other starters. Three lengths; half a head. Time: 1.12 3-5.
Clifford Plate, of 550 sovs.; 1J miles. —(1) Courtcraft, 8.2, 1; (3> Jonathan, 9.3, 2; (2) Argentic, 9.3. 3. Only starters. Two lengths: a head. Time:'2.s 4-5, Bowen Handicap, of 500 sovs.; six furlongs.—(s) Tray Bit, 7.11, 1; CIO) Black Thread. 7.8. 2; (3) Orate, 7.6, 3. Ten other starters. Half a bead; a neck. Time; 1.12 2-5.
Grey Handicap, of 350 sovs.; one mile. —(2) Land Girl, 8.2, 1; (11) Melvanui. 8.5. 2; (4) Cheval do Voice, 8.5, 3. Thirteen other starters. Half a length each way. Time: 1.37 3-5.
