Mr Robert, Tn.deh.ope
[Special To "Northern Advocate A AUCKLAND. This Day. Born in Auckland in 1842 and wellknown in local body administrations, as well as in Church, Masonic and business circles. Mr Robert Tudehope died al his home in Lochiel Road. Remuera. He was at one lime a member of the Auckland Licensing Committee and in 1899 he was elected to represent the south ward on the Auckland City Council. Mr Tudehope, who was 84 years of age. was the fourth son of Mr and Mrs R. Tudehope. who arrived in the ship Duchess of Argyle in 1842. He was educated at a school conducted in Pitt Street by aMr Hodgcock. He was apprenticed to the plumbing trade and in 1875 opened business on his own account as a master plumber. He conducted the business for 40 years. Mrs Tudehope died in September, 1935, four years after the celebration of their golden wedding. Mr Tudehope r survived by four sons. Mr P. R, Tudchof; •. Dr. C. R. Tudehope. Mr C. E. Tudehope and Mr O. C. Tudehope. all of Auckland, He was an uncle of Mr 11. T. Tudehope, managing-director of Bargain Store?, Ltd., Whangarei.
