Concluding yestevdav. the Christmas tourney of the North Auckland Tennis Association was voted a distinct success by players and committee alike. Organisation, in which the president. Mr. K. Hayr. again played a prominent part, was excellent, and judging by final results, the handicapping was particularly good. The last matches were played late yesterday afternoon. Jack Burch, who has been cropping up in the finals for years past, again came to light yesterday in the handicao singles. Much interest centred round the final of the ladies’ doubles. In this contest the losers fought a strenuous battle. Miss R. Smith, a nlaver of not yet 18 years, [flayed wonderfully well, and it was only lack of experience that swayed the results against her.
