MODERN PIRATE MORGAN

(Received 10 a.m.) LOS ANGELES, January 1. Survivors from the motor boat Aafje, found adrift off the Mexican coast, told the Federal agent that one of the men on the'yacht, Jack Morgan, had planned a campaign of piracy in the South Seas.

He intended to call at small ports or the Mexican coast to take in supplies.

They said that Morgan shot the owner of the yacht, Mr Dwight Paulding, after which he intimidated the passengers and crew at the pistol point and imprisoned them in their cabins. He handed bis wife the gun to guard the prisoners.

Later, he released two of the crew and forced them to tie a heavy

anchor to Mr Faulding’s body a;id throw it overboard. One of the vrew pounced upon Morgan and felled on with a marlin spike, and then tost d him overboard, not knowing and rn,' caring whether he was dead. Mrs Morgan told the Federal, agent that she was not sorry about what had happened to her husband.' Connplaints have been issued against two seamen, George Pernack and Robert Horne, regarding the death ol Morgan. G-men explained that they intended only to hold them as material vrnesses. Mrs Morgan has been detain ed. as a witness.
