HON.’P. FRASER IS IN NORTHLAND

Among the visiting celebrities at the Waipu Caledonian gathering today is the Minister of Health, Hon. P. Fraser, and Mrs Fraser, who are accompanying Mr J. G. Barclay, M.P. Mr Fraser leaves Whangarci tomorrow on a tour of Northland, during which, in company with Dr. D. Cook, resident officer of health, he will investigate Maori health problems in the district. As Minister of Education, he will also take the opportunity of visiting a number of native schools, although, owing to the vacation, he will not see the scholars at work.

Having spent yesterday afternoon at Taurikura, Whangarei Heads, Mr Fraser expressed himself very delighted with the scenery, stating that the surroundings were as beautiful as he had seen anywhere in New Zealand. His Itinerary.

Tuesday: Pipiwai, Motatau, Kawakavva, Kaikohe; night at Russell. Wednesday, January 5: Kerikeri, Kaeo; night at Mangonui. Thursday, January 6: To Hapua; night at Houhora.

Friday. January 7: Kaitaia district; night at Kaitaia. Saturday, January 8: Hokianga; week-end at Kaikohe. Monday,, January 10, and Tuesday, January 11: At Russell, Wednesday, January 12; Return to Auckland.
