Mr Archibald Oswald Kelly

OBITUARY

One of the oldest residents of Vinetown, Archibald Oswald Kelly, died at his home, 19 Second Avenue, early this morning.

The late Mr Kelly, who was aged 71. came to Whangarci in 1896 and set up a cabinet-making business in Cameron Street, but later retired owing to ill-health.

During his 40 years he saw the town grew from a small village to the prosperous centre of today. He was most interested in his hobby of growing roses and pansies, for which he secured many prizes in local shows. Pie leaves a widow, Nurse E. J. Kelly, of 19 Second Avenue, Whangarei, and two sons, L. O. Kelly, draper, Manurewa, and R. D. Kelly, headmaster of the Panrnure school. Auckland. There are five grandchildren. The funeral will leave the home, Second Avenue, for Kamo Cemetery at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
