C. J. Ward Wins Christchurch Golf Title

[Per Press Association.—Copyright.] CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.

The Christchurch amateur golf championship was won at Shirley yesterday by C. J. Ward, for the fourth year in succession. After a morning round of 73 had given him a comfortable lead, his aggregate for the 36 holes was 152, four strokes better than his nearest challenger, L. A. Dougall. Water which lay on the turf the day before made the judgment of distances awkward, and most of the competitors found the rain-soaked fairway and greens troublesome. Scores were poor.
