Many Campers At Russell This Year
[Special To “Nbrthem Advocate”] RUSSELL, This Day.
Good, weather and improved road conditions has turned Russell this year into a holiday-makers’ paradise. The township is literally crowded. Campers predominate, and it is apparent that many are breaking the ground for the first time.
All accommodation houses 'are booked to capacity and it is learned that many more visitors from Wellington would have spent the Christmas there had accommodation been available.
Far more yachts, than ever before are, in the harbour, owing to some extent to the Wh'angaroa race. Some entries for this abandoned the contest at Cape Brett and called in at Russell.
Despite the large number of motorists now at the town, the road between Whangarei 'and Russell has been completely free of accidents, none having been reported over the Christmas period.
