Many Migrate To Whananaki I ' " With Hikurangi residents. Whananaki is . a most popular beach. Only 20 miles from the township by a good metalled, all-weather road, Whananaki has much to offer in both ocean and sheltered-water beaches.

In the past hliday seasons have found the resort a veritable canvas town; this year, however, many new baches have sprung up, and comparatively few tents were noticed there. A recent visitor commented on the modern type of bach built. Outstanding, of course, was the newly-erected beach house of Mr and Mi’s Cadman. Other dwellings, while being smaller, 'are well appointed. Matchlined and papered attractively, many are equipped with battery radio sets. Under the ideal weather conditions the North has been enjoying during the holidays, many Hikurangi folk have migrated to athis popular resort. Bathing, climbing and rambling are reported among their activities, and sea fishing is said to be good this year. Lodge Meeting Adjourned When members of the Ngatoa Rebecka Lodge, Hikurangi, met for the last time in the old year, business was forgotten and the meeting adjourned. Members who attended, exchanged Christmas gifts and good wishes. Fol- I lowing an informal shat, they postponed the meeting and spent the remainder of the evening as a happy party at the local picture theatre.
