| Although a hard fight was put up by the Whangarei Senior E representatives in their effort to offset Auckland Suburbs’ 236. they failed to score sufficiently to avoid an innings defeat. With the 3 p.m. score yesterday reading four for 153, Auckland continued to bat well. After the dismissal of Wyberg for 76, McCabe and Brown captured the bowling and in an excellent partnership carried the score from 153 to 216 before McCabe was caught by F. Madden off Mason’s bowling.

In Mason’s next over. Brown was also caught by F. Madden, both McCabe and Brown having added 38 each to the score.
