Pairs Tournament at Kaitaia
The Kaitaia Bowling Club held a pairs tournament on Boxing Day. Not many bowlers were left in town but with a few visitors there were sufficient to bring all the rinks into use. Results:— SECTION A. First round:—Morpeth and Adamson beat Farrimond and Lenn; Parker and May beat Bidmead and Houston; Atkins and Sanders beat Cowie and West. Second round: —Farrimond beat Atkins; Bidmead beat Morpeth; Cowie beat Parker. Third round; —Bidmead beat Atkins; Cowie beat Morpeth; Parker beat Farrimond.
Fourth round; —Atkins beat Morpeth; Cowie beat Farrimond; Bidmead beat Parker.
Fifth round:—Bidmead beat Cowie; Morpeth beat Parker.
SECTION B. First round: —W. Wilkinson and Gallagher beat Stinson arid Claasen; Archibald and Dorner beat Hollay and Marks; Logan and H. Wilkinson beat Johnson and Northwood.
Second round:—Archibald beat Johnson; W. Wilkinson beat Logan; Stinson beat Hollay. , , Third round: —Hollay beat Logan; Stinson beat Archibald; Wilkinson beat Johnson.
Fourth round:—Logan beat Stinson; Wilkinson beat Archibald; Hollay beat Johnson.
Section tie:—Stinson beat W. Wilkinson.
The winners in Section A were Bidmead and Houston and in Section B Stinson and Claasen. In the final Stinson and Claasen beat Bidmead and Houston by 15—11 and won the tournament.
