Strong Guard For Films Of Attack

(Received 10 a.m.) SAN FRANCISCO, December 2G. “G” men will meet the China Clipper on Monday to guard news reels of the Panay incident. Universal Pictures announced that they would show the films unexpurgated firstly at Washington to President Roosevelt and the State Department, and thereafter to the nation. The “New York Times” Washington correspondent, however, states that the news reels of the attack are giving State Department officials concern.

The effect* on public sentiment is feared if they are shown in theatres and reveal pictorially what eye-witnesses have described.
