The trans-Tasman record-holder Awatea cleared Sydney Heads at 8.54 p.rn. on Friday and entered Wellington Head at 0.41 yesterday morning, lowering her previous record by an hour to two days seven hours 47 minutes, She averaged 22.19 knots. The master. Captain A. H. Davey, said the record was merely incidental, the object being to berth at 7.45 and give everyone a full day ashore.
