Growing Unrest In Italy

(Received 10 a.m.)

PARIS, December 25.

A correspondent of the newspaper “L’Oeuvre,” who returned from Italy, says that unrest throughout Itlay is at a dangerous turning point. Opposition is growing against the campaigns in Ethiopia and Spain.

Thousands of leaflets and news-

| papers saying, “Death to Fascism ! which has caused ruin: Be pre-

pared for the slaughter of your children,” “Crush Fascism and save Republican Spain,” are being secretly distributed in all big cities.

“Many people loudly express discontent,” says the correspondent. “Soldiers returning from Ethiopia stage anti-Fascist demonstrations and prominent Italians declare that Italy is on the verge of grave internal trouble. Signor Mussolini may perhaps have to leave Rome before the spring.”
