Tamatea Wins Race To Tauranga
[.Special To “Northern Advocate ”l TAURANGA, This Day.
The seventeenth annual ocean race from Auckland to the Mount (Tauranga), a distance of 121 miles, started at 7 p.m. on Friday at the King’s Wharf, Auckland, and finished at 10.22 p.m. on Saturday. The winning boat was Messrs Newcomb’s Tamatea, with Mr T. Hill’s Queenie second and Mr W. Scott Wilson’s Tawera third.
