Australia’s Chance To Develop Export Trade

The secretary of the Australian Associated Chambers of Manufacturers, Mr L. Withall, arrived by the Awatea yesterday. He said he hoped to have the opportunity of studying firsthand industrial progress in New Zealand
As a result of costs increasing in some countries and much attention being paid in others to the manufacture of munitions, he said, opportunity had arisen for big developments in Australia’s export trade. The position was reflected in* the increased outward trade in finished products as between New Zealand and Australia. An example was the increase that had taken place in the export of steel and iron.
