INCREASED LIBRARY REVENUE
Total receipts during November of £6B 10/6 as compared with £62 11/1 for the same month last year were revealed in the librarian’s report submitted to the Whangarei Borough Council 1 at its monthly meeting last evening.
Books issued for the month totalled 9773 as against 8866 in November last year.
Donations were acknowledged from the following:—Mrs Hill, Otangarei Road, two West Indian table mats; Mr O’Keefe, Mt. Eden, engraving of Captain Cook; Miss Rust, Rust Avenue, “Historical View of French Revolution,” by J. Michelet; Mrs Ross, Parua Bay, nine works of fiction; Mrs H. Bright, “Cintra,” Whangarei, 27 volumes for juvenile library; Mr Watson, Portland, “Spanish Journey,” by Eleanora Tennant” “Official Report on Communist Atrocities,” prefaced by Arthur Bryat; Mr Mannington, Kamo Road, “Sussex Receipe Book,” by M. K. Samuelson.
