{.Special To “Northern Advocate ”l AUCKLAND. This Day. There was steady bidding at the first call of the week, but the demand was not keen and only a small turnover was recorded. In the banking section,’ Commercials wore easier, with a market between 16/11 and 17/, and New Zealand, ex dividend, had buyers at £2 3/6, with sellers 3d lower, at £2 4/. Gas shares were on offer 4d lower, at £1 1/3.
A further rise took place in Colonial Sugars, which had a reported sale at £47 7/6, with quotations at the call from £47 10/ to £4B 2/6. Radies were easier and sold 6d lower, at 19/6.
Reid Rubbers firmed upon announcement of increased profits and a new capital issue, with buyers at £1 7/6, and holders asking 4/ higher. Australian industrials were : inclined to be easier, best buyers stopping at £3 3/3 for Broken Hill Proprietary land at £2 6/9 for Electrolytic Zincs ordinaries. Sales completed at the noon call were:—G. J. Coles, £4 5/; Broken Hill Proprietary, £3 3/6; Mt. Lyells, £1 12/6.
