Information has been received from tlie Under-Secretary of Justice that Mr Alexander Clarke has been appointed a member of the Marsden Licensing Committee, in place of the late Mr J. H. Hayward.
M.P’s Charge. “Some sections of the North Auckland Dairy Conference are more concerned with putting one over the Government than in giving cheap fertilisers to the farmers," said. Mr J. G. Barclay, M.P., this morning when referring to the comments of the Hon. D. C. Sullivan upon the recent conference in regard to the establishment of fertiliser works at Port Whangarei,
Motor-Cycle Accidents. “While I do not like singling out any particular class of road user,” said the Minister of Transport. Hon. R. Semple, today. “I must remark on the number of motor-cycles involved in accidents. There were eighty of these reported to the department during the month. One pillion rider was killed and 24 were injured. On comparative registrations, the accident rate to motor-cyclists is well ever twice as great as the accident rate to private motor-cars. Motor-cyclists will have to realise this fact. The greater mobility of their machines is encouraging them to take much greater risks than road and traffic conditions warrant.”
