Big Stimulus For Legitimate Stage

SYDNEY. December 12

The “Sun” says the legitimate stage ii< Australia is expected to receive its biggest stimulus for years following the purchase by a group of New Zealand investors of a majority of the shares held in J. C. Williamson. Ltd. A progressive policy for the presentation of plays in Australia and New Zealand is likely to be initiated.

Negotiations wore completed yesterday for the purchase by the New Zealand group of 200,000 shares in 'Williamsons that were hold by Sir George Tallis and Mr Arthur W. Allen. It is understood that a central site in Sydney has been secured for the erection of a new theatre next year.
