HE THINKS NEW ZEALAND IS UNIQUE

When Mr Serge Daniloff, of New York, regional manager of Packard Motors Export Corporation, returns to the United States, he will be an enthusiastic “You-Must-See-New Zealand'’ advocate.

He stopped on his way through Whangarei to the North today to tell the ‘‘Northern Advocate” that, in his experience, and he has had plenty of it, New Zealand is unique. Mr Daniloff has visited over 40 countries in recent years, but he considers that New Zealand is the most picturesque of the lot His advice is that we should advertise our country even more than we do. Likes Our Roads.

Ho is particularly impressed . with our reading system, which, ho finds, isas boon designed to heighten the picturesque. Motoring through the Dominion, he has caught glimpses on the onc road of typical scenes from a. vdde variety of countries.

New Zealand, he feels, should make a bigger effort to entice Americans to visit us. Psychologically, he finds the people here similar in many respects to his countrymen, and he feels that New Zealanders and the Americans would, on closer acquaintance, find ll’.at they have many interests in common.

Eyes on Our Experiments,

Political America, he said, was watching the Labour Government experiments in New Zealand with deep interest, and a New York friend had asked him to gather all the facls he could about several of the social services available here. Mr Danilolf has tried his hand at most of the sporting attractions which New Zealand lias to offer, and is enthusiastic about the fishing here. During the week-end. he was a member of a fishing party organised by Mr Lon Adams, of Whangarei. and, while he will not he able to tackle the deepsea game fish at the Bay of Islands, he intends to try conclusions with something that will put up a big fight, at Mayor Island.
