ITALY TO LEAVE LEAGUE?
IVnlted Press Association. —By Electric T clear avh.—Copyright.] (Received noon). ROME, December 9. The Government spokesman denies that Italy's withdrawal from the League is imminent. In spite of his official disclaimer, however, withdrawal seems certain. The Fascist Grand Council has been summoned for Saturday. Immediately after the meeting an announcement will be made from the balcony of the Piazza Venezia, instead of by the customary official statement. In view of Italy’s obstructionist tactics, League circles at Geneva are not perturbed at the possibility of her withdrawal. It Is expected that Italy and Germany will bring pressure to bear on smaller States to cede.
