AFTERNOON CONCERT
An afternoon concert and social, organised by the Kiripaka Women's In- j stitute, was held in the School Hall on November 27. A programme of exceptional brilliance was presented, which was enthusiastically received by the j audience. Afternoon tea was served by members of the Institute. A few community songs brought the enjoyable function to an end. Songs were sung by Mrs Drummond, Miss Joan : Smithies, and Miss Helen Knapp, and j Mrs Griffin gave amusing monologues, j An original sketch was acted by “Vio- j let and Ivy." Mrs C. Finlayson and ! Mrs R. N. Johnson being also in the j cast. Mrs Geo. Woolley played the ' accompaniments for Mrs Drummond ' and Miss Smithies, and Mrs Knapp ac- j companied Miss Knapp. Mrs - Sands, president of the Kiri-j paka Institute, thanked the perform- ' ers for the enjoyment they had given, ! tire audience in their turn awarding t!icm musical honours. j
