1 A very successful dance was held in 1 the Kauri Hall, when the sum of I £7/5/6 was raised in aid of the St. John Ambulance funds. Members of the A team of the Kauri Tennis Club journeyed to Helena Bay on Saturday, November 20th, in quest of the A Cup, held by Helena Bay. They were successful in winning by 9 sets to 7. Results of play are as follows (Kauri mentioned first):— Men’s singles.—Jas. Peat defeated A. Matheson. 8—1; C. Ferguson lost to E. Pickens, 1 —8; F. White lost to L. Play, s—B;5 —8; C. Bell lost to W. Derrick, 7—B. Ladies’ singles.—Miss J. Ayton defeated Miss S. Hay, 7—o; Miss R. Bell defeated Miss W. Hay, 7 —3; Miss Shirley Jones defeated Mrs Derrick, 7—l; Miss Dorothy Ayton defeated Mrs N. Hay, 7 —4.
