The Japanese admit that heavy j fighting is proceeding at Kiangwin, j but the city’s fall is expected any hour, thus, eliminating the second “Hindenburg Line” from Kiangyin to j Wusih. Only a few minor fortifica- i tions lie between the Japanese and ! Nanking.
