The four Auckland members of the New Zealand cricket team —Vivian, Wallace. Weir and Cowie—were welcomed by cricket officials on their arrival this morning. Vivian named Edrieh, Hutton. Compton and Washbrook as four of the best younger generation batsmen met in England. He said that C’nwie was faster in England than in New Zealand and got help from the heavier atmosphere. The Aucklander said the Australian wickets were much faster. They ware impressed by the play of the Australian colts. Jackson. Barnes, Hassctt, and the fast-bowling McCormick.
