40-feet cruiser-launch Lamorna, 1 built in Auckland for Mr J. Blundell, of Napier, arrived at Taupo at 11 a.m. yesterday, after a trip on a heavy trailer. A roundabout route was followed to avoid bridges, owing to the great weight of the launch and trailer combined. —Special. * # if coming into contact with A the propellers of the Awatea during the voyage from Sydney, a whale was killed. The blades of the starboard propeller struck the flank of the whale, and blood stained the sea for some distance in the wake of the ship. The Awatea arrived at Wellington yesterday.—Special.

T\7WHILE securing mussels under a ** wharf in Timaru Harbour yesterday afternoon, a middle-aged man, Mr George Taylor, slipped and fell into the water. He did not come to the surface again. The body was recovered by harbour board employees half an hour later. —(P.A.)

AN identification parade of young men was held at the Wanganui Police Station yesterday, when Mrs Una Thompson, the victim of an assault in the early morning of October 3, was present. The result of the parade was negative, as far as identification was concerned.
