BUTTER MARKET TONE IS STEADY

Dairy Produce

A Press Association message sent from London on Thursday states that choicest salted New Zealand butter is quoted at 114/- to 115/- per cwt. Although this represents a decline of about 7/6 on the past week, it is only fractionally lower than the mid-week quotation of 115/- per cwt. The market tone is steady. Danish has advanced by about 1/6 since the middle of the week, and is now selling at 141/- to 142/- per cwt. Australian is a shade lower at 112/to 113/-.

In unsalted butters, New Zealand is quoted at 120/- to 122/- per cwt., and Australian is quoted at 116/- to 118/-.

The cheese market is slow. New Zealand, white, is quoted at 68/6; coloured, 67/6; Australian, white, 66/-; full-coloured, 66/-.
