He Slims In A Lions’ Den

Dr. R. If, Hunter, curator of the Belfast Zoo, spent five minutes in the cage of two partly-tnained, forest-bred lions, to prove to the British Medical Association that for slimming liontaming is better than golf. One thousand doctors —delegates at the B.M.A. Conference —saw him enter the cage armed with a whip and an iron bar.

The lions growled angrily as the doctor ordered them to move round in circles, sit up and sit down, but they meekly obeyed his commands. The spectators were thrilled, but hardly convinced. Dr. Hunter said;

“I have given up golf altogether for lion taming. In comparison, golf is far too slow.

“I get as much exercise in half an hour in a lion’s den as a week’s golf would give me, and you need to be ace-fit for it.”
