Trades Unions To Demand Aid For Loyalists

(Received 10.30 a.m.) PARIS, June 25. The International Federation of Trade Unions and the Socialist International, at a conference under joint presidency of Sir Walter Citrine and M. de Brouckere, made a solemn pledge to bring pressure to bear on the League of Nations Government to assist the Spanish Government according to obligations under the Covenant, to restore the political and territorial independence of Spain, and enable the Government to buy all the arms necessary to defend its rights.

Sir Walter stated after the conference that the resolution was carried unanimously. All realised their great responsibility, but agreed that it was better to run the risk of war while the Spanish Government existed, than finally to drift into war when it was too late.
