[Special to “Northern Advocate ” 3 AUCKLAND, This Day. The feature of the .Westfield fat stock sale yesterday was another, rise in beef prices to 32/- per lOOlbs. The advance was due to - a small yarding of stock. ' Sheep came forward in larger numbers yesterday, but extra heavy sorts were comparatively scarce. In other pens values were a shade easier. Lambs were rather short of supply, and quality was patchy. A full yarding of calves sold at late rates. Porkers and store pigs were quoted fully firm at late rates.

Alfred Buckland and Sons, Ltd., report afe > follows: — Sheep.—Sheep were penned to the number 0f.f69. Competition for wethers was not as keen as last week, while ewes retrained firm at last week’s quotations. Extra heavy prime wethers, £1 15/6 to £1 16/6; heavy prime wethers, £1 14/- to £1 15/-; medium to heavy prime 'wethers, £1 12/6 to £1 13/6; light to medium prime wethers, £1 11/- to £1 12/-; unfinished wethers, £1 7/6 to £1 10/-; extra heavy prime young ewes, £1 8/- to £1 10/6; heavy prime ewes, £1 6/- to £1 7/9; lighter prime ewes, £1 4/- to £ls/6; other killable ewes, £1 0/6 to £1 3/-: other ewes, 5/- to 17/6. ‘ Lambs.—-Our total yarding of lambs numbered 449, and sold freely at fully late rates. Extra heavy prime lambs, £'-1' 8/6 to £1 13/3; heavy prime lambs, £1 6/9 to £1 7/6; lighter prime lambs, £1 4/6 to £1 6/-; light prime lambs, £1 2/- to £1 3/-; small and plain lambs, 9/ - to 19/6., ' Calves.—We had a full yarding of calves. A free sale resulted, with values similar to those ruling last -week. No extra heavy runners were penned.
