Attempt To Mediate In U.S. Steel Strike
(Received 10 a.m.) WASHINGTON, June 17. With President Roosevet’s approval, the Secretary of Labour, MiSs Frances Perkins, has appointed a special board to mediate in the steel strike. Mr Lloyd Garrison, formerly chairman of the Federated Labour Board, Mr Charles Taft, son of the former .President, and Mr E. F. McGrady Assistant-Secretary of Labour, will sit at Cleveland to investigate and to arbitrate upon the issues, if the parties are willing.
